Hey guys, we will be hosting big and small NissanGTRclub.com members gatherings all over the USA, and are looking for club members who would like to work with us to host small local GT-R gatherings such as group dinners, road course or drag strip visits, car show attendances, and more. Our club will help sponsor the events in multiple ways such as financing, logistics, organization, promotion, free shirts/decals/etc, and more!

If you are a GT-R lover who wants to be involved with this, please shoot me an email at blackwell@speedforsale.com or call 770-777-4774. We are looking for members from multiple locations. Thanks!

I am in Iowa and we have an excellent location here for such a rally. The new racetrack designed and built by Rusty Wallace just opened here last year and they have both an oval and road course track and excellent facilities
that are available at great prices. I know the Track manager and could help set up a deal.

Hey bud, please do so! I'd love to get various NissanGTRclub.com events going around the USA, and have the knowledge and logistics to get it done. Please PM me about it, and let me know how much the road course wants to rent it out for the day. Also check about their open track events on the road course.

Maybe with the new GTR coming out this will be a larger possibility. Currently though I can name 6 or 7 that I'm aware of is the Midwest.

I'd be interested in getting some GTR owners together to head down to PMI here in CO.

Most of the ones I know are from Chicago and there's one guy in KC named Dieman that has a 1100 WHP GTR R33.

LOL, The guy's name with the 1100AWHP Skyline is Jake. He used to own a shop called Dieman Motorsports.

But Kansas City is a mid-point in all the Midwest, Heartland Park in Topeka has a nice Road Course and also a Top Fuel Drag Course there.

This might be something to look into. However, we need to see how many Chicago area GT-R owners are here. Racerhall, do you own a GT-R? Do you know any other GT-R owners in your area? If we can find just a few GT-R owners in the Chicago area, we can create a Chicago area GTR owner's sub-forum for you guys to keep in touch, and we will also move forward with organizing some sort of event at that location. PLease send me a PM with any questions/etc. Thanks!

yes i do have a gtr and no i dont know of anyone else that has one, have yet to see one other than mine driving, i did go to sema so i have seen plenty of others, i think that ams which is a tuning shop has one or will be getting one, i race motorcycles and race at blackhawkfarms all the time another place would be road america or gingerman for a meeting or event, blackhawk has track days for cars 3 or 4 times a year that is not very much money that we could meet or we could just rent out the track on our own if we have enough people

I live in Naperville, IL and office in Lisle, IL. I ordered my Gun Metallic 2009 GT-R at Bill Kay Nissan in Downers Grove, IL the first week in March and took delivery the first week in Sep.:D

A neighbor spotted it in my driveway and hooked me up with ChicagoZ.com. I went to two of their meets in the Chicago burbs (mostly Nissan Z's of all ages and Infiniti G Coupes); but another Titanium GT-R also showed-up at the meets. He's an ER doctor from the North Suburbs and goes by "GTRdoc" on the ChicagoZ website forum. (I go by "CajunGodzilla" as I do here.) I know there are others in the Chicago area by now (several are mentioned in the ChicagoZ "GT-R siting" thread), but I haven't run into them.) A truly awesome R34 GTR was also at one of the meets.

I'm not into tuning or racing (at least not yet). But I'm up for meets and/or cruises in good weather, i.e. probably not much for the next 4 months.:(

Fyi, through the ChicagoZ webmaster, who I met at one of their meets, I got introduced to another of his websites, a new one called ExoticDriven.com. Unlike the ChicagoZ group where my GT-R is a star, in the exoticdriven group, I feel like the low-rent, ugly duckling (though the group appreciates Godzilla and welcomes me amongst the classical exotics). I was recently with them on an invite-only exotic car cruise from Barrington to Rockford, co-organized by ExoticDriven.com and the Lamborghini Club of Chicago. It was a day of awesome sights and sounds:
9 Lamborghinis (including Gallardos, Diablos, Superleggeras, and 2 Countach!),
2 Ferraris (F430 & 599)
1 Aston Martin (Vantage)
3 Porsches (2 911 Turbos and a Carrera GT!!)
2 BMW M3 Coupes
1 Viper
3 Vette Z06
1 older Acura NSX
1 older Toyota Supra TT
and, of course, Godzilla.
They also had three chase cars with 2 still photogs and 1 HD videographer. The photos and video are posted (along with those from 2 previous cruises, from before the time I met them) at ExoticDriven.com. Check it out.

Hope to hear more from local Chicago area GT-R folks.:)

Okay guys, you now have a Chicago area subforum: http://www.nissangtrclub.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57 It will be a nice place for everyone in the greater Chicago area to chat, meet-and-greet, organize gatherings, buy/sell parts, and just any other random topics. Have fun with it! :) Once there are a few posts, I will send a mass PM here on the forum to all members who have CHICAGO as their location in their profile, which is about 30 or so members. About the road course event, Racerhall can you let me know when their next upcoming open track day is, and I'll start a subforum in our EVENTS section to spread the word.
