that is some pretty impressive gains if they are true, wow~
these are only CAT backs, right?

Thats the first video i have seen where you actually get an idea of how fast the car really is in a normal setting...how most of us would be driving it.

And wow...just wow.

I am not surprised at all. Nissan put a significant emphasis on meeting Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards. The turbos need flow; Mine's has delivered. Does anybody know the diameter of the downpipe, O2 housing, general exhaust?

These bad bosy are freaking $$ I won't even post how much...
lets just say over $3K!:eek::eek:

but they look good and sound just right, not to loud and not too muffled...
but there are many bends in these pipes, but it doesn'r bother me as much as others...hard to get these pipes real straight going to both sides...

If it includes the high flow catalytic converters, $3k isn't bad

I post the price quite some time ago, and yes, the price is around $4-5k, not including the catalytic converter ;)

give it a year prices will drop!

I may end up back in Japan (due to my job) or back states side.
If I am back in Japan its on, I will get my old net works back, and just hit me up, I will get anything you want...I will try to get JB and Speed for Sale up to speed on any changes going on in Japan with the R-35...

in about 2 years all R&D in japan will be fully complete. There will be modded engines from HKS, Tomei, heck maybe Tommy Kaira comes back on board they are hands down the classiest tunner co. in Japan!

Great find. That gives you a nice idea of what it'll sound like from inside the car. Does anyone have a video of the MINEs exhaust from outside of the car? :)

This guy not only got the Mines Exhuast, but he also got the Mines ECU installed on the same day. He told his buddy that the power and the change was well noticed while driving...air flows better, and more power...

I thought the horsepower was underated on the car. If this car only did 500 horsepower at the flywheel with this exhaust. What will a stock car do at the flywheel. I was hoping for 500-550 from a stock gtr.

I met a guy one night at the Yokohama brigde parking lot that spent $50K on his R34 engine alone! all hand built by Tomei, everything was redone! and Tomei shop was about 10 miles away from my last house...:eek::eek:

So between 10 KG weight reduction and improved flow......20 HP

that will be a 'tough' sell for the money

$4000.00 - $5000.00 = 20 HP gain

it's ok

$4-5K for that exhaust isn't that bad at all! I'd shell out that cash for that exhaust, look at the welds, the blue tips the fact that its made in Japan!!!

Coming from the motorcycle world, a full Termignoni exhaust for my 1098 retails for $2700 and it's not even Titanium.

The Moto Corse exhaust from Japan for Ducatis are roughly around $5K and looks like crap!! :(

Thanks! The Ducati 1098 is one awesome motorcycle! I know a lot of "hard core" car enthusiats frown down upon motorcycles, esp Jeremy Clarkson but to each has their own.

Its one thing to experience the speed and handling of a motorcycle on the road yet alone on the track but on a car, I couldn't imagine the joy. Just seeing all the reviews on the GTR and the annual GTR meet @ Buttonwillow here in California, it's time for me to get back into cars again.

Cheers on getting a bike. Anything high speed does require a lot of discipline and as long as you respect your surroundings, you'll be in good shape. I've been riding for approx 10 yrs and enjoy every time I throw my leathers on.

One dyno showing a 20 hp gain at the flywheel for $5k? Was it an engine dyno or chassis? If chassis what number did they use to calculate the loss? There are a lot of cat backs out there making 20hp to the wheels on the Z06, Cayman, 911, etc for $2.5k.

no one uses the correct or the same friction loss levels.

cullmann
08-13-2008, 01:42 AM
is a chassis dyno and it was measured by wheel hub.

483.7 ( hub hp ) x 1.05 ( TCF ) = 507.9 ( Flywheel hp )

mindlessoath

nissan claims 10% friction loss for the R35. nothing more nothing less.

I belive dynos are only good for compairing the install of parts. ie get a baseline and then add the part, find out how much it added. you can never really get a real flywheel hp number, just a possible number thats close.

I completely disagree, 4-5K for an exhaust is redicuals. Especially for 20 peak hp. from 0-5000 rpm there is 0 gain. It does look cool and i assume is sounds good, "video no longer works" but if you going to spend that kind money for hp upgrades i would look other places. For 5K you can do cam and full exhaust for a corvette and add 100 - 200 hp easily.

Maybe nissan made a very efficient exhaust from the factory and didnt leave much on the table. I bet you could more than 20hp if you just removed the cats.

he used 5% loss here. why not 10%

480 is the power of R35 GT-R.

They got the 462.6 from danapack.

Base line : 462.6 ( wheel hub ) x 1.05 = 485.7 ( flywheel )

Therefore, they used 5% loss to check the power.
