Hey guys, I figured it would be interesting to see what factory color is the most popular! I also attached frontal shots of each color at the end of the post, HOWEVER you'll notice the colors vary slightly from the rear angle shots, and from what I've seen the color rear shots are MORE accurate! This is wild to see the interest in white GT-R's versus white Supra/300ZX/Z06/etc! White is one of the most popular colors in terms of new car sales, but for most rare sports cars it ranks in the middle of the field in terms of value.

I've never been a fan of Black or White, but this past year I would love to have a Supra in black or even an illegal R34 GTR in white (illegal because I live in Canada.)

But if I ever get a 2009 or 2010 GTR, it's gonna be Black, then next year or so paint it Bayside Blue all over.

Leaving the engine bay Black of course (just like all the TV2 R34s), you know, keep with the theme and all.

OK guys, it appears that the names of the colors have been changed for the USA market! I will update the choices in this poll to reflect this. Here are the updated color names:

Ultimate Metal Silver is now Super Silver Metallic ($3000 option)
Vibrant Red is now Solid Red
White Pearl is now Ivory Pearl
Dark Metal Grey is now Gun Metallic
Super Black is now Black Obsidian
Titanium Grey is now Titanium Metallic

Mine is black/black (on order) and like a few other black/black fans, I'll be doing the complete stealth look. The idea is to have my GT-R be a statement of pure, unadulterated evil. The only exterior feature exempt from stealth with be the GT-R badging on the front, rear and sides. I want folks to know what just blew by them and to fear the GT-R badge when they see it on their butts in the rearview when they're in the "fast" lane. :)

Here is a reply from a Texas dealer "confirming" that silver will cause significant delay times.

"Exciting news here in Fort Worth, TX! All of us here at Thornhill Nissan feel privileged that Nissan North America (NNA) is allowing our dealership the ability to special order three new 2009 Nissan GTRs to specific customer specs. We will literally be able to build the Nissan GTR to exactly how they request! I understand that you made an inquiry on the GTR to our dealership and I wanted to personally respond in that we are now prepared to take orders. We are excepting a $15,000 deposit on each GTR that you can apply to the price of your new GTR on delivery. Several bits of GTR news from Nissan:

• Destination & Handling (D&H) pricing have yet to be released for the GTR. We understand that NNA is looking at using a special custom delivery service instead of the normal car transporters to bring the vehicles from the port to our dealership. We do know this, your GTR will be delivered specifically to the Executive Manager of Thornhill Nissan, only our Service Manager can write service on a GTR, and we will have a specially trained Master Technician who is qualified to service a GTR. We have also purchased several pieces of service equipment to become compliant and fully qualified as a GTR-Certified Dealership.
• Super Silver ($3,000 Premium paint job) is unavailable for the near term, as it is sold out for at least the first 4 months of start-up GTR production for vehicles coming to the USA. You can order it, but it will significantly delay deliveries.
• We will not order the COLD PACKAGE for any Texas deliveries per Nissan North America. The issue is that the glycol/water mix is unsuitable for almost all of the driving patterns in the 48 states, and NNA is questioning every order with that is submitted with the Cold Package.
• The orders work as specific matches are made between sold spec orders and matching them with the Japan production bound for the USA. Each regional area for NNA is currently being allocated monthly GTR production flow, that their assigned Nissan dealerships submit sold orders against. Production is fixed out of Japan, but you can spec your vehicle and Nissan will match it up to a vehicle coming off of the line if you are early in the order process.
• Adjusted Market Values (AMV) occur when dealers perceive that the market will pay a higher premium for a specific vehicle than what the manufacturer suggested for the retail price. AMVs are all over the place with the 2009 Nissan GTR with most dealers in the South Central states requiring a $20-25K premium, and some Nissan dealers have charged as high as a $100,000 AMV premium. The Thornhill Auto Group has some experience with AMVs with all of our franchises in Texas. It’s nice to recently have had popular products like the Pontiac GTO, Ford GT, and just recently the new KR500 Mustang that all demanded premiums based upon supply and demand, yet we were very reasonable with our select customers. Thornhill Nissan is charging only a $15,000 AMV on each of our 2009 Nissan GTRs.

Nissan designed the cockpit to look like a stealth bomber. The flat black would make it look just like one. I'd like to see someone paint theirs this color and take a pic next to a stealth bomber.

Btw, anyone ever had a flat black car or know someone that does? Is it hard to maintain? It seems like it would scratch easily.

-Only the Super Silver has the 3 extra coats. Thats why it cost a little more.
-The white is pearl white, much like the Infinity pearl White color.
In Japan, it is an option to get the 5 year paint coat on your car...It is not an option for the US, Im not to sure for the rest of the world market...

Just got a call from my dealer- Got my Vin number 17 didgets long.
WIll get my car 8/15 it is in LA right now. Would have had it next week but they needed to do some adjustments to the new rack so it put it on hold another 10 days. By the way Super Silver is not matalic. It is just a super shiny silver. That is the color I got. Thanks

Our first choice was gun metallic, then white.. then looked at the black. We never liked silver cars but the super silver on gtr is just waay to beautiful to look at and the two tone, silver on black.. fell in love with it. Brings a smile to my face everytime i see it.

This is a strange result (the poll). Nissan stated on the 2200 preordered GTR

i would ike to see the cars and ther colors in a real life setting rather than a generated model. Its a lot easier to see the color for what it is when its actually in a real picture. The white which is one of my favorite looks like a cream color, but the one i actually seen is a more white. If anyone owns a red one or black one and wants to post up some pics that would be awesome.

Since the silver one is what caught my interest in the first place, I ended up going with that color. The other color that was of interest to me was DMG. Just finished a tint all around w/35% on sides and rear and 50% on front. Looks just like the brochure. The other aspect I like about silver is that you can't tell if the car is dirty or not. I drove it in the rain and it still looks good. I've owned a Black Mustang Cobra before and although black is awesome when its cleaned and waxed, you just can't compare to the ease of caring for silver.

I will have to say the Super Silver by far is the most eye catching color specially when it is in the sun....You just can't beat it...I like all the colors but you have to admit it about the SS....

IMHO super silver looks the best and the name is fitting. However, I can't imagine getting a minor fender bender or even scratch repaired. So for a garage queen/weekend car living a pampered existence it would be my first choice. For a daily driver: Black. Tough to clean but easy to repair/mask minor road rashes and stealthiest in terms of not arousing the fuzz.

Not very subtle for arousing the fuzz, but the red is my favorite, after some other paint matching etc.
IMO the grey painted body kit, wheels, and vents just do not go with every color. After seeing the paint matching, etc., I had to go with the red. Without seeing it this way though, black would have been my first choice as well.

I have a Titanium GTR so I guess my choice is biased. I love that color. I like the Gun Metal too which I was looking for as an alternative to the Titanium. Whichever color anyone has, its a great car either way. I am happy to be part of this community.

Well , White is beautful color.....We love white car in Abu Dhabi And Dubai. Speacially when you mix it with black. you ve got to Paint the upper wing part, skirt side , front and rear Pumber in black and the wheels. it will look so nice

@lemaratee, thats a good looking red gt-r. I kind of like it but I am going to try to buy a super silver version.

But most likely after a few weeks of owning it I will place the carbon vinyl to make it match with the color and to make it stand out more. Also, i will place the carbon vinyl on the dashboard plastic pieces to make it appearance wise inside look better than the good looking way it is now.
