I took opportunity of long CNY holiday to attempt top speed record on my GTR.

I hit 300++kmh (rahsia - hehe) before and had to slow down as it is getting dangerous with other cars on the road (I know this is silly and outright dangerous but I always immediately slowdown when I see other car may be few hundreds meter infront of me)

So yesterday, ambient temp was cool and car is stronger with few new mods. Road also empty. I also have video with me. I quickly hit 250kmh and slowly gaining speed 260, 270, 280.. the road still empty. Then it hit 287 and suddenly the car jerk... dang!! i lose my ball and had to slow down. Hmmm... have to wait another long holiday and empty road before I can try again.

Plus I have to remap my ECU too.. according to feedback from other forum I posted, it is quite abit of work to remap since i change the injector. New algoritham is needed to fix the torque signal to the TCM and hence clutch lock up on the stock ECU with big MAFs and injectors.

good report you have and it would be the best if we can share the video!! hooray!

btw, how was the trans cooler working along with your attempt, saw the picture of the cooler itself in your earlier post, cheers! ;)

Tony, I installed 3 coolers - Transmission, Front diff and Rear Diff. My Dodson's Heat exchanger that I previously used to cool the transmission is now used to cool the engine.

I wired the cooler so that I can manually overide on/off or just let the pump on/off by suing thermostat. On “I” position, the coolers/ pumps operate from the thermostat. When the trans temp hits 97-98 degrees, all the pumps will turn on. It will turn off when the trans temp is lowered to 83 degrees. When the switch is put in “O” position, all the pumps are turned off and even if trans temps go above 98 degrees, it will not activate. Basically, I would use this position to turn pumps off if it activates in traffic jams or similar situations. When the switch is put in “II” position, this allows me to turn on the pumps immediately.

The pumps are really loud when the car is stationary. I almost sounded like Japan GT car idling. It also vibrate a bit but is doesn't bother me. All the sound and vibration gone when the car is on the move.

Initial test ; hard driving on manual transmission shift on highway for 30 minutes

Prior to cooler
Engine temp 88C
Trans temp 107C

With cooler on auto on/off
Engine tem 87C
Trans temp 88C

So it has significantly lower the transmission temp. Cant wait to test it on track

me too not a racer but i tried many times with many cars in Sepang. Sunday should be just a normal open track day, i thought since its still a long holiday weekend, perhaps less cars :)

Let me start another thread if anyone of us here interested to convoy there ..hehhee
