v2.0 - choose STAGE 2 RON 97 if you've changed your EXHAUST

v2.0 - choose STAGE 1 RON 97 if you have a stock car!

Reflashing the car takes about 10 mins!

Load the new maps on to your AP by plugging it in to the USB port of your comp!

Load using the AP manager.

Once loaded, go flash your car!

the new map is amazing. What i noticed was the following:

1)idle rpm seems to go down to 800.
2)slightly faster throttle response.
3)engine/exhaust sounds better.
4)Auto mode+R feels smoother! it feels like the tune did something to the transmission!

In short, the car feels crisp and refined!

I havent tried at highspeeds on the hiway yet. Will try it tonight!!!

Oh my friends, please use RON93 instead RON97. RON93= 97 octane. if you use RON97 map have to use ontane booster (like Azri^^) for safety and performance reason. or it may "too" advance ignition timing that cause engine knocking.

new map good for~
Lower idle rpm is good for our straight pipe (lower sound)and fuel eco.
leaner/more correct AF mixture for throttle respond= fuel eco too ^^
AF change cause exhaust sound lighter (lean)or deeper(rich)
Oops!seems it makes more refine for fuel eco too. hahaha...

Anywhere, I like the new beta map! have to ask Jeremy any updates for my custom tune or not. my custom idle at 1000rpm with AC, loud and bad eco.

800rpm idle when AC on?

Unless you can get actual higher octane gas, please run the safer map. There has been researches done by magazine companies here in the US sometime ago. Most octane boosters are really not going to help raise the octane reading higher.

YES! AGREE.... even with branded, most of them just add +1 octane only~ Malaysia research.

Im confused now.. I've always used the RON 97 map.

On the Cobb AP Maps list we have the following:

91 OCT
93 OCT
95 RON
97 RON
100 OCT
102 RON

Fuels in Malaysia

Yellow : 95 RON
Green : 97 RON
Red : 97 RON (vpower)++

Whats the difference between RON & OCT?

If Im not mistaken, RON 97 = 93 AKI

Idling at below 1k RPM with aircond.

Max boost is only at 1.0 (then down to 0.9) (used to get 1.2 - 1.3)

Power feels refined and smooth! As if it was an NA car!

Yes Azri, you're right. my mistake of Ron-Octane. confuse by I'm using 93octane map.My 93octane= your 97Ron.
I strongly recomand other owners MUST use V-power+ petrol. cause our petrol station's fuel quality....
91octane=95Ron
93octane=97Ron
100 octane=102 RON.

seems v2.00 can solve the TPMS system fault code too.

Hello Azri,

Have you taken your car for a highway spin after COBB 2.0 ?

I am very anxious to try this out ...especially the accelerator improved response.

PS : I am now in BKK office...will only be back this weekend.

I took the car on a highway spin last nite and today.

Response is better but only slightly.

Max boost is lower but it's very smooth. No more spikes. The car feels more tamed now... crisp!

Still fast but tamed. (v108 = wild)

It should help extend the life of our turbos and etc!

Try it lah... why wait? ;)

Hello Azri,

I am no expert but when you say Tame and cultured, I am taking it as less torque and less power.

Why ?

When I installed the back exhaust, I thought its better to use Stage 2 RON 97....and that is exactly what I experienced..smoothness and refineness but no more kick in the ass acceleration.

So I decided to do a Dyno at the same shop as I did my first Dyno using Stage 1 Ron 97....yes, a unmistakable drop in torque as much as 10% at some rpms and a drop of 5 % power between 6000 to 7000 rpm.

I am now using Stage 1 Ron 97 .... a GTR must deliver a kick in the ass acceleration if not its not a GTR. Smoothness is meant for cars like Jaguar XFR supercharged.

I wouldnt say i've lost power.

According to some sources, a mostly stock car on the v2.00 map is able to do a quatermile in the high tens.

Power is definitely still there.. but no more boost spikes!

Interesting guys ^^

Hello dear Pete and Azri, I notice that V2.00 is more refine too.

Pete, at your point of view... that's correct too. just like RB26DETT change a Tomei Kit with Larger turbos, let's say 550hp~ it perform like someone kick your ass when accerereate(you can try this car at KL). BUT it can't beats a R35...why? cause by it's Very narrow power band! our R35 is 3.8 liter + twin "small" Subaru STI IHI turbos. R35 can produce much wider power band than R34 with NA like smooth~ but no one kick our ass...haha.

When during Chinese New Year time, you're welcome to Ipoh to try my partners Crazy Supra 2JZ(he claimed dyno 650hp+), then I drive your R35 from 100km to 200km+, I bet yours can beat that single huge turbo beast.^^: Yes, not easy too....

I'm not here to support Cobb AP's V2.00 cause I using Custom tune by Jeremy, but for safety reason as Azri mention~ It's reduce boost spike/better gear change/safer to our engine/lower idle rpm too...it's good for a daily 550hp car, AP really does more refine now.

My No.8 had 5 times dyno WITH data log in KL too. from data log AP produce the torque's peak "a bit" too high then drop boost about 5500rpm. that's what you see in the chart that torque is higher. for my opinion , that's a rough setting! it using our OEM 0.6 bar wastgate - shut the door(actuator outlet)-then drop boost causing by that two weak actuator spring~ open... Please don't just watch that torque line, you have to know our boost is not stable causing by that springs, so~ why you boost so high if you know that's come with drop? it causing mid torque too high- breaking our gears(you don't want mid rpm boost only,I want the high rpm boost). or higher the exhaust temp- shorten our expensive turbos life.

*Amuse GTR reduce that mid torque by 1bar only(to protect the transmission~ similar to V2.00)but gradually up to 1.2 bar (higher and stable) high rpm boost runs the fatest lap time in Japan!

Ok, if you really looking for stable high boost/crazy power as mine then first change your actuators plus.. plus...plus give me a call.

Oh Pete, you Futsusubo is "no" gain in power and reduce torque too.

Hi Guys,

Go and do the V2.0 fast.

Wow...previously when I fully step on my gas I had to wait before the car moves.

Now with 2.0 the car just screeches off wildly...and I mean wild.

I love it so much.

PS : This only happens in Normal and Sports mode. In comfort mode I noticed they modified the transmission so that there is a linear delivery of power ....I noticed the gear does not try to change to 3rd even when you floor the accelerator when in 6th gear.
