USA release date for GT-R

According to Nissan's press release, the official release date in the USA is June 2008, and worldwide within the fiscal 2008 year!

As a personal anecdote, I went to my local Nissan dealer (largest in my state, CSI apparently over 90%, 12 service bays, one of the higher volume dealers in the northeast) to ask about the possibility of seeing this car in showrooms. I was greeted by classic Nissan dealer apathy (same as I experienced when I purchased a 350Z in it's debut year). One manager told me that its release would be 2009, another told me to look on the website, and a 3rd (a salesman) told me to come in periodically to check. WTF?? How about an interest list, a card, or a number to call for updates? I know I don't give off the vibes of a well-to-do, affluent, sports car buyer (I look like I barely graduated high school), but a little knowledge and courtesy about such a highly anticipated product would have been nice. Still, as most things that are coveted to this extent, I will put up with salesmen BS to get my butt into the seat of the car. Hope others have a slightly better experience. On a lightly related, but somewhat tangential note, anyone else get treated differently based on what they're wearing or how they look when they walk into a dealership?
