To Malaysian owners,

I'm trying to best to read up on the GTR online, unfortunately it's difficult to find any local content on it.

For starters, I've heard plenty of 'rumors' on the GTR, the gearbox recall issues being one of them, and the threads in this sub forum on the Consult-III and the Cobb AP is quite refreshing.

I don't expect to be spoon fed with info by asking you guys questions here, but appreciate if you could point me in the direction of reading up more on the GTR- especially info that's relevant to us, since most of the cars here are grey import etc.

Never in my wildest dreams that I think I'd own one, but thankfully I'm in a position to own one atm. Obviously, plenty of research needs to be carried out on my part before getting this beast of a car.

Appreciate all the help you can extend to me.

Thanks in advance,

Jaii

Hi Jaii,

Congrats on your purchase, and believe me, the GTR is THE car. I have driven and tested a lot of supercars in my line of work and i can honestly tell you nothing compares to the GTR in comfort, driveability and refinement. I am not talking about pure raw power like the Lambo or the Ferrari's. What the GTR's has is a total package where the car and driver become 1. I too hope 1 day to own 1.

Enjoy

Hi Andy,

I haven't own one yet, in fact today only I'm taking one for a test drive. I'm still reading up on whatever I could online in regards to the GTR, before deciding to take the plunge.

Where is Trial Tuning Spirit?

gearbox rumors = true.

Recalls for grey imports = impossible.

Broken gearbox on local GTR = a few.

why = they whack and dont take car of the car properly

How to avoid a broken GTR? = after buying the car, personally send the car to a shop to do the 1st oil change/filter change, transmission fluid change, LSD change (front and back), alignment and balancing.

You never know how long the car's been sitting in the showroom or at the port!

Once you've done all that, go to a Service Center with the CONSULT 3 (C3) and do a clutch software upgrade to v7 or v9, and/or do the clutch learning/setting.

Once done, your car should be in more or less good condition.

You MUST drive it following the break in period for about 2000-3000km. Break in period = driving slow, low rpm, light braking, light cornering.... that means no drifting or launches!

now on with launch control (the 3 Rs at the center) dont ever touch it .... or else!

After the break in period, drive for another 2000km to get it to 5000. then repeat the service process again! ... and keep doing it every 5k or 3-6 months. depends how much money you want to throw at the car!

To keep the car clean, (depends on color), you'd need a good waxing every 2-3 weeks. You can DIY or send it to the shop, eitherway, be prepared for few hundred more on monthly expenses.

:D

As for the oils, i'll cover that another day! PM me or Norman, we'd be happy to help out and direct you on where to go and where to buy and etc in KL! :)

Hi Azri,
Sorry for responding so late as we were very busy preparing for the MME race. Our Nissan TPMS resetting tool has arrived. Do drop by and lets test it. What we got is the TPMS resetting tool for Nissan vehicles only. So far we do not have the time to test it on any R35.

Jaii, you really want a better GTR then go for 2009 spec. or a UK English version 09 spec.
