Unfortunately I totaled my GTR. I was going through a corner lost control and hit a light pole. My passenger and myself both escaped without injury.

I was planning on doing the 18,000 mile service at Terry's this week. I have all of the supplies and no need for them. I would like to sell the stuff so I don't have to look at it. Let me know if you are interested. All GTR stock fluids.

9 Quarts of GTR Transmission Fluid
3 Quarts of Castrol Differential Oil
6 Quarts Mobil 0W40
2 Engine Air Filters
1 Cabin Micro Air Filter
2 Wipers blades

Just returned from the bathroom after seeing this. Man I am really sorry to see this sight but relieved you walked away. Hope you find your way back into another GTR soon.

Yes I will get another GTR. Not only is it what I consider to be the best performance car ever made it is also very safe. My passenger had never seen a GTR before this ride and he was amazed how it performed before and during the crash. My wife is also happy I am alive. Can't wait to be back in the seat.

We should do a group outing for some beers to mourn your loss. We'll buy, you drink.

Glad I don't live in Marietta. Sorry for your loss but keep that kind of driving off the streets.

How about sometime next Saturday? I found a great Yakitori joint on Cobb Parkway, we could grab some skewers and beers. Perhaps Terry and some others can join in, and we can raise a glass to our fallen mate.

Oh my God! I nearly cried! So sorry mate! How hard were you driving? I thought it was virtually impossible to loose control of the beast.... did you have TCM off?

TODGTR
07-20-2009, 08:33 AM
The TCM was on. Your right it is almost impossible to loose it. The GTR can only compensate for a certain level of stupidity. I went way over that.

Let's not call it stupidity. How about we say that you were being "irrationally exuberant"...

No not yet. I am planning to get a 2011 if the price increase isn't too much. If the increase is signficant then I will buy a used 2009 or 2010.

Have a beer for me! That's never a good experience.

If you had to guess what kind of mods would have saved you if any?

I believe the 2011 will have slight different body differences... But only a bit. I like the changes, makes it more aggressive in my mind.

Glad to hear u still want one after that. Did ur insurance cover anything?

TODGTR

I don't think any mods would have saved this situation but I like your thinking.
The insurance company has agreed to cover the majority of the balance with the GAP insurance policy covering the difference. It should work out ok, just minus a GTR. If the prices keep declining in the used market I may buy used just to end the wait for the 2011 model. The only thing I am 100% on is getting another GTR.

Well maybe sticker tires, better wet traction. Possibly thicker and stiffer end links, an anti sway bar maybe? Stiffer springs? More bite in the brakes?

I understand tho. Cool! That reminds me I should get gap insurance.

Sorry to hear about your GTR. What is Gap Insurance ? In the UAE we only have Comprehensive and Third Party.

I have GAP Wise. The Nissan dealer sold it to me. GAP covers the difference between how much you owe on your loan and the market value of the car, which is the amount paid by your insurance co. if you total it. I would have it on a GTR. They are very expensive to repair and are more likely to be a total loss.

NICE. I wish we had something like that over here. Especially with the current downward spiral of car values.

I bought the GAP insurance as well, just like I did with my last car. It's pretty cheap and will save your arse if you total the car in the first 2-3 years when the value drops the fastest. Hopefully I'll never have to use it, but it's nice to know that I'm covered.
