Approximate prices for oils and services
Engine Oil (Mobil 10-40W) : RM 450+ - 6 liters
Differential Oil (Motul 75-140) : RM 400+ - 3 liters
Transmission Oil (Pentosin-FFL4) : RM 1200-1600 - 8 liters
Alignment Services: RM 100-300
Clutch Learning (Consult 3 usage) : RM500-800 per use (RM3000 unlimited use)
Labor Fees : ??? Depends where you go! :)
Total Service Fees (every 5k KM/3months) : RM1800-2500+ excluding labor fees & C3
Parts are easily found. For new owners, don't worry about the transmission. A change of the oil + a clutch relearning would fix most problems!
Before making an after-market purchase.... do survey the prices. Try SpeedforSale for a start or ask us! (Norman or myself!)

1. you can read according the owners manual and the attachment below.
2. In Malaysia we can get~
Engine oil:HKS,Mobil....a lot. but don't use too thick for R35,old school is using thicker for "old"Turbo cars.
LSD:Motul.... a lot. I using HKS and Red-Line,Great product for me.
Trans oil:Pentosin 2/4 and OEM in stocksSS. P4=OEM, P2 thicker(between OEM to Willall),better protection for gear and clutch and much faster gear change compare to Willall but slower than OEM. so Willall is better protection for sure (as manual oil 75W-90) but a bit too thick for the solenoids in GR6. GR6 needs ATF like light oil to operate the valve(body)/solenoid.
3. According to the price:
First Class: Links power Sunway
Second Class: Toms Sunway(opposite links)/Auto Reign
Eco Class: KKK Auto Cheras Tmn Cempaka

Bridestone RFT F/R 1 set about RM8000.
What exactly is the process of Clutch Learning (Consult 3 Usage)?
Norman
02-07-2010, 03:29 PM
easy explain ~first adjust the "gaps" of "worn" clutch. second adjust the pressure when clutch contacts.

btw,you can use this service when service your R35 at US.
We~ Malaysia GTR no dealer here, have to dig a way out. later will use the New Cobb AP(few months later) to do it!
Any recommendations for a service centre in KL ?

Norman said that there was an Eco Class place called KKK Auto Cheras Tmn Cempaka.
I know that Kakimotor has opened a place in Maluri but i'm not sure if they offer service facilities but I can check and post if anyone is interested.
Best to stick to the well known guys in Sunway IMO.

Oh! that's old info already.:o long long ago...
Sunway area is well known for price only. okey... most of them. :p
For example:
Cobb remapping you may go for GTC Ben (Links) or STWangan Japnese tuner then go for it. Singapore will be MB Motor or ST power... or even USA custom tune, that's aggressive one. If you can get the best why go for second?
Eco means for routine service. You may change oil every where, BUT hope they have the "know-how". like~ how they remove your front under panel for engine oil change? How much literS transmission oil they change? 6 liter plus? 7.5 liter? 8 liter or 9 liter+? they need the know-how to do it. Early 2009, I heard that's a workshop change the transmission oil for 2 liter only... they don't know that's one more leak plug inside... Oh my my
Why I recommend KKK because they "grow" with our GTR since 2008... they can do transmission inner clean up service too. if you don't mind that's a small non air-con workshop :o
Links just get the Dodson Pro dealer last month, so they gonna be the Transmission professional in Malaysia.Congrats to them.
In Malaysia, ST Wangan and Links can do clutch learning after transmission oil change. (ST deal with Malaysia GTR owners club members price). However, you can do clutch learning by your own Cobb 06 too.
Kakimoto I know but have no any experience with...... so no comment. You guys can ask Azri about their product/service. he deal with them before.
Hi Garry, welcome to join us. if you familiar with your own workshop but need the know-how, just let me know. we can advice/guide them FOC.
We actually don't advertise for anyone here, when 2008~09 that's no much choice... We are here to help members to solve problem and gather together. :)

Hi Norman,
Thanks for the info and the welcome. I guess that there would be no harm in setting up a list of established, trusted and professional workshops who have experience with the GTR.
If Links are now the Dodson dealer, I would expect them to be bringing in the lower temperature thermostat which seems to be an obvious choice of mod here in the tropics. Group buy?
Cheers

Dear Garry,
Happy 2011 ^^
most of members have thermostat already. The thermo needs to set your fan working temp as well. I mean perfect cooling tune.
Pm me if you need the authorize workshop from our club.

Don't know who go Vision, you know them very well?
What's your service budget? I mean most expensive is the transmission oil, so what brand you choose?
OEM? Dodson? Willall or Pentosin 2/3/4?

Oh! I remember now. Vision is opposite the Links. That's my second Dyno shop.:p I know him... :D
The Boss own a GTR too, so probably he knows the car well.
ps, transmission oil price start from~ RM1000 to near RM4000 per change, depend the oil brand and shop.....and how they charge you.
