Hey there! Great to have a Malaysia GT-R club, I'm Kevin from Sabah, currently driving a Black Edition R35 in white. There are quite a few R35 in my area, but I'm not sure if they on this forum though.
Anyhow, its always nice to have a place where we Malaysian can discuss and share our experiences.

Meh... its been a few months since we started this thing. There's definitely alot of views on the Msia GTR OC forums but we still dont have a complete list of GTR owners!
There should be approx 60+ GTRs registered on malaysian roads already...
Pls join the forum and msg me so i can compile a list.
Maybe we can do a little meet up! :) I suppose, the info we need is (just copy and paste the list below):
NAME:
CAR EDITION:
CAR COLOR:
PLATE NO:
FONE NUMBER:
I'll compile it and we'll sort out a TT or something!

hi guys,
this is by far the happiest thing after i read those sad stories everywhere online for the GTR.
Just bought mine last week and has yet to have time to drive it around much..nevertheless, i know where to go to when i have doubt on the car now.
Jeremy guided me here from GTR.co.uk asking around who has the PIII and GTR card as i heard that's the only thing that can help to recalibrate and re setting the car itself including the Transmission...
again, BIG Hi to everyone!! cheers!
Hi Guys,
I'm M'sian but based in Singapore.
Have a pearl white R35...See you guys around! I come up to KL once in a while.
Cheers,

OTR USED - RM500-550k
Insurance is about 19k without NCB
Road tax is about RM5.5k

hi guys, dilwy here, currently owning a gt-r 2008 standard edition, location: klang.
just bought a silver R35 for 5 months, and only bought for 400k from my friend who have it for only 2 months+.
the R35 is very powerful, much more compared to my friends R34 and Z34. but the fuel comsumption, wow! RM130 per week.
And bumps@! I really scared of bumps! it was most scary. anyway to jack up the car? i already changed the tyre, which is thicker and the car is higher. i don't want to change all those ori parts as they were worth a fortune.
you changed your tyres to "thicker' ones?? is that even possible?
I have no problems with bumps. Just dont fly over them at top speed and you will be fine.
You seem to have gotten a good deal for your car. Congrats and enjoy it.
dilwyonagtr
04-24-2010, 01:19 PM
nah.. just a few mm thick and nothing more... i can't even drive fast in malaysia, not even midnight on the highway! my top speed is only 138km/h... after watching those GT-R crashed completely on Youtube, i daren't drive fast. I admit that it's hard to drive race cars in Malaysia and one of my friend treat his Z34 like a leisure car.

hey all, it's been a long time.
last week i tried my gt-r for 0-100 right after the Bukit RAJA NKVE Toll in Shah Alam, using the launch control, midnight. it goes speedy, and 3.2secs with VDC off and 3.5secs with VDC on. top speed record: 200km.h......
two days ago... someone kissed my GT-R's back... or should i say... CRASHED? a proton saga, actually. mine has a little bit cracked and the paint went off abit, but the saga... can be described as 'TOTALLED'. the whole front were gone... so SHE had to call the tow car. the number plate went off as well... and my insurance agent said he will help me to settle it asap, but at least 2 months.. WHAT! 2 months! how could i drive my GT-R? now he's in the workshop, waiting for the new bumper to be imported and painted. i had to drive my uncle's RX8.
dilwyonagtr
06-10-2010, 02:51 PM
hey, btw, did anyone got any summon letters for speeding with your GT-R? i received 2 actually, 1 for speeding at Melaka (speed limit is 90km/h but i'm only 95km/h!) and 1 more for speeding near Ipoh...

09/10 no big different. 09 improve a lot! if you really want the best~ go for 09!
10 improve the cooling for transmission but not enough compare to aftermarket cooler. that's why just get one 09 and add one aftermarket trans cooler and cheaper than 10.
08 still Bang for the Bucks!
However, 11 is another story.......;)
what I mention above is JDM ~ Japan model.
holdbreaker
11-10-2010, 11:18 AM
11 is probably a bit far...damn gatal already. so as per your other post, 09 with a 5xxx chassis number and upgrade accordingly. With the JDM spec, is there a language option? Will be very annoying to have to decipher kanji every time I look at the car.
Also, I'm assuming that the car will come with all the factory standards, hence, it will need to go to a doctor to get the speed limiter removed etc etc...correct? I saw from Aziz's post in one of the topics a short list of things to do when getting the car, perhaps there is another list of things that would "make sense" to change from standard? (eg brakes, aftermarket cooler etc etc). I guess what I'm asking is if there is a FAQ for new owners or future owners like me with pointers to experts locally? Saves you guys from answering the same questions over and over again :)
As for how I intend to use the car, it's going to be my every day car. Anyone here actually does this now? 480 std horses is plenty for me for the mean time. Of course, I'm sure the gatalness will come and mods will happen, but progressively and not to go until I blow things up. In your experiences, what is a "safe" power upgrade for the original components?
A
Norman
11-10-2010, 12:36 PM
08,08 end of 08 with 5xxx+
JDM model because the Japan rules that cut the fuel supply around 190 km.
Your case I will intro the UK spec for you. No speed limit, auto dark rear view mirror, lamp washer and all English^^ and UK model definitely 09 model.
We know that will be tons O&A follow by FAQ. So one to one is ok ^^. Because when we recommend parts or major weak point upgrades to members, they will call us snake again... Hahaha
For R35 potential, basically have to change whole exhaust system, from down pipe to rear exhaust for your UK spec...around 530hp. Furthur more let's discuss when you need the upgrade.

nothing to worry about,... 5000km servicing is recommended (peace of mind)depend on how you drive,,, you can drag till 10,000km....
About transmission nothing to worry about as long you do not push it till 120 degrees Celsius....
Japanese words is the least of your worries...

1 transmission problems - mostly happened to us models only, so don't worry... Better test drive it before buying..
2 you can ask tan chong KL to help you to maintain, but beware, the bills!! But nevermind, your warranty won't be voided when you use the launch mode.

If you worry even having a GTR, then you most probably have only ///M or a Porsche for fast road cars. Reliability vs performance? No car ever manufactured to come close!
Try having a Ferr.. Or a Lamb.. For daily use/whack, and compare their price vs G-force you get... I think all the worries you have are worth it!
