Meh. I think the whole VDC off and launch thing is way overblown. Most of the wailing is from a few people who abused their car and aren't happy about getting stuck with the bill, and the rest are people who don't have the car (and likely never will) and are just hating. If you look at the comments on the video, it's pretty clear that almost none of them are GT-R owners. Most appear to be fanboys of Corvettes and Porsche. They love to hate on GT-R's, but I have yet to find one on the road who will look me in the eye when I pass them. I don't understand their need to hate on GT-R's.
I feel for the guys that broke their cars, but don't feel it is reasonable to expect Nissan to pay to repair something that results from abuse. I'm certain they disagree with me on that, but you'd expect that. If I got stuck with a 24k repair bill, I'd be pissed too. But as far as I know, we all signed the disclosure form, which at least implies that we read and understood it.
I don't get the whole fascination with launch control. Personally I didn't buy the car to drive it fast in a straight line. That just has no appeal for me at all. Doing things like the Tail of the Dragon is what does appeal to me. That is where the car shines.

A GTR's tranny repair bill (include labours) ask for USD22K in Malaysia....but you need to wait for one and half month for delivery.
Even Pro shop in China and Hong Kong also works hard for stronger gears...,the price will go down soon....by made in China....like my i-phone^^
i'm not your club member ,sorry

This is why everyone should either:
1) upgrade to the new 'Launch Control 2.0' with VDC ON (covered under warranty) launch control
or
2) keep the old VDC OFF launch control and go with PPG gear sets!

I plan on doing the launch update at my next service, but I may or may not ever use it.
