I'm looking for the best clear bra installer in Houston for my Ivory Pearl GT-R.

Would you suggest going with a custom install or a pre-cut template?

Also, how far up the hood would you take the bra or would you do the whole hood?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

I just might do that. I saw your pictures from Speed Shield and it looks great. How much (ballpark) do you think it would cost for the full hood, front bumper, fenders, and mirrors?

Also, is that your GTR on the speed shield website?

Go with SpeedShield. I saw pre-cut template installed on SS color GT-R yesterday. It looked silly and ugly.

Is there any alternative to the Clear Bra? I am taking a road trip with the GT-R and don't want the front to get marred with road debris and bugs. I am thinking about using blue tape like the auto-x and road race guys use.

I don't have any alternative suggestions for the road debris problem. I have 8700 miles (mostly highway) withonly 1 small mar on the front facia.

As for bugs, I use either "PLEDGE" or "WD-40" across the front. The splatter will not stick; will not harm the paint. This is mostly a problem in the Spring and early Summer, although there will always be bugs.

That is certainly an idea.

u ever get that done?
i know a guy who has already installed it on a couple of GTRs and it came out pretty good.
He does it for a Nissan dealer.

I went with an internet pre-cut kit, because I was going to drive back to Houston from Phoenix thru the West Texas sandblaster. Did it myself in a hurry with less than professional results. There are wrinkles at some edges and on the first piece I went to school on, over the hood. Price was right and it did the job I needed, but it doesn't look very good. If all you want is quick protection, the internet pre cut is OK. If you want an "undectectable" installation, go with the entire front hood, fenders and mirrors by a competent professional and expect to pay about $1000.

I have used Steve Perez at Driver's Source on Memorial for the past 5 years. He has done everything from my GT-R, to R8's, Ferrari's, P-cars, and about 12 other cars of mine. You can call him at 713-539-6700

Tell him Peter with the Silver GT-R referred you... They will set an appointment with you and 2 hours later, it's done!
