OK guys, I am in the market for some new tools and equipment. I am going to buy a fluid exchange machine and some other parts. However, to help offset the costs involved, I am going to need more money.
So, I have decided to offer $100 oil changes. This is a lot less than the dealer and will probably be done better. As a bonus, you get to watch. Here is what you get:
Basic oil change with Mobil 1 (0-40)
Nissan oil filter
I will clean the two under panels (the ones that need to be removed prior to doing the filter change) and fasteners.
I can also check the bottom for leaks and so on.
I will also re-align the quick fasteners and check to make sure that the threads are still good.
For $40 more, I will install a Fumoto Oil Change Valve. This makes oil changes easier.
I can do two on Sunday (in Lilburn, GA). I need to know two weeks in advance if you want the valve. If you want just the oil change and filter, just call me or respond to this post.
My background: I used to be a mechanic and have worked for two shops. One was a body shop and the other was your basic shop.
I have changed my GTR's oil a bunch of times already and am very familiar with how to do it. It takes about 2 hours.

Where You Located At?
Will This Void My Warenty? Lol

I am in a suburb in Atlanta, GA called Lilburn.
It will not void the warranty to put on the valve. ;)

Sounds good Terry,
What exactly does the valve do? Did you get a lift? Tom

No lift yet. The valve just makes it easier to do an oil change. If you do not do your own oil change, you probably do not need it.

OK, I got enough Mobil 1 (0W40) oil for three changes. I can get more right a way if I need to.
I am now free to do these changes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, as well as early Saturday morning.

For anyone doing a brake pad change out, I would strongly recommend the Ferodo DS2500 pads instead. They are much cheaper than OEM, and offer signficantly better stopping power. They may create a little more dust and noise, but not too bad. And instead of OEM rotors, get the AP Racing slotted rotors instead. Overall, you will save about $1500 over OEM, for a much better breaking system and package of parts.
Just some heads up info. :)

Yup, Ferodo DS2500 is a better pad than OEM and AP Racing rotors instead of OEM. You can get both from from Speed For Sale :)

Move on down to ATL. Yeah, love the Fumoto valve. I am keeping a couple in stock.
Now, can anyone find good transmission oil for less than $200(for 10L) and an engine oil filter repositioning kit?

Yea guys, as usual we'll offer special low pricing for any local Atlanta members to help offset the sales tax to ensure that any parts you purchase through us are still priced lower than purchasing out of state. Please send us an email if you need a quote, and just use the pricing on our webstore as a guideline.

I performed the transmission fluid change on my GTR yesterday. It took about 4 hours. I can probably do the next one in less than 2 hours, now that I know how to do it.
When I get my lift, I will be able to do in about 30 to 40 minutes.

The N Series F-103 is the one I use. It is the same one that I've installed on RGO's and will install on Fuguman's R35.

Installed a valve on Fuguman's R35.
Did the rgo808's R35 a while back. Just performed the front and rear dif fluid. Checked the transmission fluid and performed another oil change.
How fast did I do it rgo808?

Have you noticed that the oil gets black even before it hits 1000 mile?
totsubo
03-19-2009, 02:00 AM
yes. I just changed the oil on the 03-03 and it is already dark. I suspect it is due to the two quarts that was still in the cooler and filter, so I changed the oil again along with the filter on 03-13.

Need help here guys...
I can't get the R35 transmission oil here in Indonesia. If I buy is through S4S, i have to pay about 35% duty here.
Is there anything commercially available?
Thanks!!

Dang, a regular GT-R party at Terry's house. Looks like the taking the Nissan badge off is becoming a trend. I've been thinking about doing it.

Thanks man! I just had my oil changed, so it will be awhile. I don't put a ton of miles on, as most of my trips are back & forth to MARTA or bootcamp.

I meant to hang out. Not necessarily to get your oil changed. ;)
I was only changing rgo's oil and filter that day. After that, we head out for lunch.

I should definitely be at C&O next time. I found a pretty good Yakitori joint in Marietta if we could get together a GT-R dudes feast sometime.

Too bad you are far from me, otherwise it would be nice to come watch you work on the GTR's (mine and other's). But I think its great that you are doing this for fellow GTR owners.

Thanks. BTW for you locals:
I will be performing a partial 18,000 mile service on my GTR on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009.
I will be doing the following:
1.) Transmission Fluid (including gaskets and drain plug)
2.) Front Differential Oil (including gaskets)
3.) Rear Differential Oil (including gaskets)
4.) Engine Oil/Filter
5.) In Cabin Air Filter
6.) Replace the front air damn with a newer style one.
I will not be doing the air filter, since I just changed it.
I also will not be changing my wiper blades, since they are still in great shape.
I will not be doing the brake fluid nor the engine coolant.
Expected miles when I do the service will be at 18,000 miles.
If you want to come over to watch and help take pictures, please let me know. I will be starting around 5:30 PM. I expect it to take four hours.
