Everyone make yourself at home here, and spread the word to your fellow Korea area friends. Feel free to post about upcoming events, cruises, dinners, buy/sell parts, or anything else you like.

Welcome everyone to the Seoul/Korea subforum.
There should be a gathering around Inchon airport this weekend so if anyone is able to go, please post here! It'd be great to meet new members in person and their cars.
Or if able to meet at other places and times, please let us know.
Thanks
Chris

I know there are other Seoul-er's, especially because I've talked to 5 or so owners of the new GT-R and told them about this site...are they just lurking at the moment or having trouble finding the Korea section ?
Ody, sent PM back. Also if you plan on coming here, any idea on where exactly you'll be? I'm guessing you still have family over here?

While I'm not an owner, I am in the Seoul area. Glad to see folks out here with a GTR, but I haven't seen one yet. Not even at the Nissan Dealership in Hakdong area (near Apugjueng (sp)).

I'm sure you can take your car with you to Korea. But you will have trouble everytime when you need service works.

not impossibel I did it! Its not hard to bring your car to Korea!
service is not an issue, others are getting their GT-Rs serviced...

I completely disagree with you saying that service isn't an issue at all. Most dealers will not fix nor try to give an attempt to fix it unless the car is purchased from the official dealers in Korea. World Wide Warranty doesn't matter to them. They just don't care to be unethical.
I had trouble having service done to mine few yrs ago with Merc. They wouldn't do it until I try to bust them off. They eventually fixed my car due to world wide warranty. But taken my car away for like 20 days just to fix air scarf tingy, I call that a trouble.
For Gt-r, I would be more than surprised if Nissan/Infiniti Korea steps up to service those GT-Rs that are from outside of their official dealers in Korea

I owned 2 cars in SEoul...one was my US Volvo and it was servced and all warrenty issues were no problem...the other car was a JDM Nissan...it was taken to the Infinity dealer for all services and there was no issues and no problems...Korean dealers have been servicing JDM cars for sometime now...and there are a few shops in town with decent techs that lived in Japan and are korean...just have to know where to go...

Awesome man, thanks!!! I found Samcheongdong, and it only looks like a short walk from the Gyeongbokgung subway station. Maybe I'll hit up the area after we see the Palace.
Any of these restaurants ring a bell?:

yo, try young su san on samcheongdong st. It's the original location and very famous korean cuisine. samcheongdong is like a block away from in sa dong. most restaurants on in sa dong st aren't that good on these days. even when u at in sa dong, go eat at the ones on samcheongdong if u can. Samcheongdong Sujebi from your link is very famous. I can't ever eat there cuz it's so crowded all the time.

Hey nice to see more members starting to post up here :)
안영하새요, 방가워요.
I stay between Ichon-dong and Seocho-dong. Also on the 20'th couple friends and I are going out to celebrate. It's one's birthday and the other's going away party back to the states after being here for about a year.
As for the worldwide warranty issue, sometimes it can be a pain but HAVE to respect the warranty whether the car was bought in Korea or shipped here. I know some people, even Korean's coming from the states with their cars, who sometimes have trouble with the dealerships and them covering the warranty.
Feel free to PM, hell just post here, if anyone is in town and want to meet up.

Thanks for the warm welcome dw. I'm actually flying to Seoul from Taipei on the 20th and will be there late afternoon... staying in Jongno area. My gf and I are actually planning on heading out to a club that Friday evening, so hopefully, it'll be good times!

Maybe if someone gifted Kim Jung Il with a new GT-R, he'd be more pleasant to deal with.
Welcome, guys. Watch your backs.

Although my friend works at SK Co., there are no discount buying from SK subsidiary~ SK Speedmate ~ SK Nissan franchise dealer in outskirt of Seoul call BunDang City area.
I just want to post a person who were helping me import new cars to Korea, export from USA. Since gray market importation by SK Movilion is no longer in operation, person in charge move to Nissan franchise dealer by SK.
If anyone passing by this place, ask for Mr. Yoon Min Ho. He'll give a tour and serve hot coffee. I heard is really cold right now....below 10 C.
