Not right now at Tire Rack. The Dunlops are more expensive. :(

I recently asked my Nissan dealership service mgr to price the OEM cold weather package wheels and tires as a winter swap for the std (premium package) wheels and tires I have on now. It was $10.3K (mostly in the wheels).
But he said they'd throw in the mounting and balancing. LOL.
I've decided to mostly garage it for this year's Chicago winter (other than some occasional wkend drives when good weather coincides).:( Then maybe next year, I'll make the plunge. After all, it'll still be a lot cheaper than replacing my long-in-the-tooth WRX as a winter driver. Still don't know. Would love to hear feedback from anyone with the winter package, especially after you drive it on snow and ice. But I'm very concerned that on unplowed or poorly-plowed roads, the air dam will act like a snow plow, which would ruin one's whole day. Then there's always the morons that can't control their cars in the snow even when you can and do. So upon reflection, maybe its best to keep a nice rally car (WRX, STi or Evo) on tap for Windy City winters.

They came stock on the All Weather package cars, like mine. They suck, when compared to the regular Dunlops or Bridgestones. Still managed a 1:37 around Road Atlanta with them, but they howled and complained the whole way around. :)
I would not suggest switching to this tire, if you are currently running Dunlops.

contracters tire in marietta
I had the 7010 all season tires on my car with the Cobb sway bars.
They were great in the rain Although most of it was probably due to all wheel drive. Grip in the dry was good but I was able to slide them in just about any corner that I would take at 70% or more.
Breakaway was very progresive and predictable. after about
After 6000 miles I had enough and switched to the SP600DSSTs. Dry grip has tremendously increased. I can break so much later too. These tires require more concentration to drive. They break away with less warning but the added grip is way worth it. Have not tried them in the rain yet! but I have heard of at least one person who hydroed into the next lane with them!
hop this helps.

SP600DSSTs isnt that the same tires on the Spec V?
its hard finding replacement tires for the stock wheels...
I want to find a good set or run flats for DD
and a good set of track tires...may have to go aftermarket wheels with this package...
thoughts?
No these are not spec V tires. These SP600s are available as OE on some GTRs in the US. I bought mine from Tire Rack. Car and Driver said that at VIR these tires were 3 sec quicker than the all season SP7010s (which I had on my car as OE). Also they stated that the SP600s had more grip and less understeer. (they didn't say by how much) than the Bridstone RE070Rs which is the other OE summer tire for the GTR.
So if your going to go with OE I'd say the SP600s are the ones to go with.
I have read on the forums that the spec V Dulops have a 140 wear rating, are not available and that they will be sold through Nissan dealers only with spec v vin # verification. Don't know If this will actually hold true.
As far as after market tires there are some options but none of them have the same front to rear rolling diameter. I was afraid of trans problems so I decided not go there just yet. I decided to wait for a tire developed for the GTR.

I just ordered myself a set of Dunlop SP600s. We only get the Bridgestones over here so I wanted to try them out :). Will let you know how they are soon.
Guys we have had a few cold days here in Cali (50-60 degrees LOL). These Dunlop sp600s need to heat up. I took a turn at about 70% and I nearly understeared off the road. The all season Dunlops don't have as much absolute grip, but they are ready to go 100% on the first corner hot or cold.
I can't attack a turn with sp 600s 100% untill the they are warmed up.

I have the Dunlop All Seasons as that is what my GTR came with unfortunately. I am looking for a aggressive track or summer only tire as I don't drive my car in bad weather at all. Does anyone have any cup tire recommendations?

My 2010 bought in NY with Cold weather Pkg came with Dunlop all season. They run and handle well dry or wet for spirited street driving. No experience with track as yet, They do have some tire noise from runflat hard side walls but notice this on most. Wear well at 7500 mi

If you have tire cupping you can find someone who does tire shaving. This is done to most track racers to make slicks out of stock tires. I found a guy in lower SE PA. Mine got cupped because the dealer Porter Nissan "sucks" did not align the car at 1k mi. Nissan customer service was useless also.

I ran Blizzaks (on the OEM wheels) happily through the Chicago winter this year. I just went back to my OEM Bridgestone summer-only tires (mounted on some sweeeet looking BBS LM-DBK rims for the spring-summer-fall) and for use on the road-course tracks.
The only downside is that each time I make the switch (in late fall and early spring) I have to go to the dealer to get the car's computer to re-learn to read the TPMS in the changed wheels.

If you are looking for track tires, I would recommend Sasco. I have used them for years on all my street car track tires and my vintage road race tires... they ship nationwide http://www.sascosports.com/index.php

Just bought a New GT-R Super silver
Live in Colorado bought the gtr because it is supposed to be able to be driven everyday in the winter. Mind you I will not drive in major snow just everyday winter conditions light snow etc.
Came with Summer bridge stones just orderded the Dunlops for the winter.
First question is are these tire really ok to use and still enjoy the car( no track stuff yet) ?
The dealer is planning to mount them on the same preminum black rims on the car now. Is that ok? I noticed many people change rims. If so whats a good rim etc.
I hate this tire swap stuff just want to be able to drive daily in most winter conditions etc. Any advice or experience is welcome

Congrats on the new car Tony. As noted above, I am happily running Bridgestone Blizzaks (identical sizes to the OEM tires) on the OEM wheels, for Chicago winters, while using the OEM summer Bridgestones on a 2nd set of rims (BBS LM-DBK, also identical sizes to the OEM wheels) during spring-summer-fall.
Of course, deep snow driving is out due to the low front air dam.

What mileage are you guys getting with the factory all season Dunlops?
At 6500 miles my fronts are chopped (had it aligned twice at dealer) and rears are down to 5/32s.
I have not raced or launched it. Seems like very poor mileage to me. Don't know what expected mileage is (under normal use).
Wish we had more choice for street tires out there.
With this mileage, tires for the beast are an expensive proposition.

I've got ~12500 miles (including 3 full track days) on my OEM Bridgestone summer runflats, and they appear to be only ~1/2 used-up. The Dunlops are supposed to be a bit stickier, and therefore, I suppose, somewhat shorter in life. I've seen some postings similar to yours and one who had gone through 3 sets with only 2000 miles per set. But those experiences seem to be the exception. I'm guessing you may have a less than perfect alignment/toe-in/camber on your car. If your dealership's GT-R tech can't get it right, try another dealer.

I had 4 new tires and alignment today. My service rep couldn't figure out how my car got so far out of alignment. One front tire was really chewed up. I had alignment done about a year ago at 3500 miles. At 8000 (my mistake, not 6000) miles the fronts were shot. The rears were wearing OK and had about 5/32 left, but I replaced all 4 anyhow.
Guess I'll have to have those new babies and the alignment checked out several times a year from now on.
