Here is some chat at SupraForums about this event from people who have attended our group at previous events: http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492881 EDITED AUGUST 27: OK guys, it's official. Due to the NOPI Nationals being cancelled and then revived in a much smaller venue under a different name, we have decided to attend and help promote the Atlanta Motor Speedway's 2008 ACDelco Street Drag Nationals drag race and car show event instead, which is on September 19-20 (same weekend as NOPI Nationals.) Here are full details and the schedule for the event: http://www.atlantamotorspeedway.com/speedway/street_drag_nationals/ We have been in talks with Atlanta Motor Speedway, and we feel that the outdoor venue with racing is the way to go, as we (and many of our friends and customers) are more into motorsports than just pure car shows. We will have our own section at the event, and AMS will be sending out a press release in the next few days noting that our group will be attending their show. We are staying at the same nice 'Quality Inn & Suites' that we've stayed at last few years (Hotel info here (http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=GA462&sid=j3N_._6f3Mg0_O.2&sarea=6267&sname=McDonough&sstate=GA&scountry=US&sradius=40.22&slat=33.44722366333008&slon=-84.14694213867188&schain=A&exp=&scity=McDonough&sort=&nadult=1&nchild=0)) You can reserve your room for only $77/night by calling 770-957-5291 and telling them that you are staying with the "SpeedForSale group" and if you have any problems ask to speak with Beverly or Pam, as they are very aware of this group coming. Each person staying at the hotel gets a FREE hot breakfast each morning (eggs, etc) and one free cocktail drink each day at the hotel's own lounge/restaraunt/bar INSIDE the hotel which is very nice. It also has wireless/wired internet access, a pool, an exercise room, and more. Also, the hotel is located directly beside the interstate on-ramps (which is good news for those of you who want to 'play.') AMS already has a large following at these Street Drag events, and from what we've seen and heard it looks like it will be a GREAT time! You can also camp at the speedway, which is really cool. AMS is very willing to work with us on ideas for the events, so if any of you have any input please post it up and I'll run it by them. They have been a great bunch to work with so far, and we look forward to this event turning into the next 'big event' in the south east! On a side note, AMS is wanting to meet with us for dinner and to walk through the Speedway to discuss another NEW event that we will be doing in the early Spring of each year, which will be a weekend long event with road course racing, drag racing, a car show, and mobile dyno. This event will be similar to our SpeedForSale Shootout event that we've done for about 4-5 years now in October, but will be a spring time event and has the potential to be MUCH larger. This event will be for all sport car models, with a focus on actual racing and the car community instead of the 'lifestyle' (no drifting, rap concerts, bikini contests, etc.)
