The COBB AP install scared the crap out of me...
During the installation, the warning message kept flashing that the AWD system malfunctioned and to take it to a dealer. Also the traction control turned Off.
After the installation completed, all warning messages disappeared.
I installed the stage 1 map for 93 octane. I cannot feel any difference since I am not: flooring it, doing launch control, speeding or anything else... yet. I did the flash to simply check to see if the map would take. It did. I will reflash to the stock map (and get used to that setting first).

I am sure that if I uninstall the COBB AP and replace the map with the original ECU mapping (or stock map) they should still honor the warranty. The reason I say this is because, they can check the "black box" to see how the car is being driven.
If I flash the anti theft, MPG or valet mode maps on it, then my GT-R will appear babied.
If I never flashed the the ECU, but drove my GTR into the dirt, then the warranty would become void for most of the car.
I am guessing that if I voided any part of my warranty, I voided only the warranty that covers the ECU and not the entire GT-R (such as the drive trane) ... according to the research that I have done so far.

sometimes they blame anything they can. really depends on the dealers.
other than that, watch how much you use launch control and how much power you use.. it will wear the tranny faster.
but ya, make sure you have a fully charged battery before flashing, drive around to charge it up if you need too. if the battery goes dead thats a bad thing. other than that its suppose to have error codes go off when flashing it.

OK, my first experience with the COBB AP (using the 93 Octane Stage 1 Map) is that I loose boost around 4,000 RPM. Very wierd.
It does not happen all the time. It has happened twice though.
One time it cut off while I was in sixth gear at exactly 130 MPH. Felt similar to a rev limiter.

I put the COBB stage 1 93 octane flash on mine today and it has been nothing but problems. I had several blips (where the boost cut out) Later on today the car went into limp mode and threw 2 codes p1334 and p0234. The first is an engine misfire and the second is overboost. Gonna call COBB first thing monday morning and see what they say is up with it, If they cant remedy my situation I am sending it back.

what are your mods? also cobb have made an update beta map you can download and try. it solves most of the problems.
you can download the links from this article
http://cba-r35.blogspot.com/2008/09/competition-heats-up-between-ecu-tuners.html
(that way i dont have to copy them all by hand :P)
sofar everyone is having a good response with little issues. one heavy foot is having a small issue with the boost cuts with a stage2 with no cats and like i said its only when he has a really heavy foot on his jdm car.
he also said he removed the high flow filter because that was causing the issues also.
I think once cobb releases the software and or lets the tuning shops make custom tunes for each GT-R there will be no problems at all. Which is what i belive everyone should do, custom tune there setups since everyones setup is differnt.

then it should have worked for you. anyways, try the 1.06 beta and see if that fixes it. someone that has the same setup as you tried it and worked for him just fine and fixed his issues.
also note that cobb is always willing to update the maps with more info from its customers. SO PLEASE contact cobb with any results to help them help you with updated maps.

Here is my test using the 1.06 Beta.
So far, no over boost and no problems. I tested it last night and was able to get to 6900 RPM without any issues at all. Only did this twice. So, I will need to try it out more.
